Madita Kloss
Madita Kloss Portrait ©Christian Cervantes
Madita Kloss (*1988, born in Vienna) lives and works in Vienna. With a background in fashion design and illustration, she has always been drawn to painting as one of her primary forms of expression.
Madita’s vibrant style, emerged fully during her pregnancy with her first son – a time in which she embraced a confident, intuitive language of color and form.
Influenced by medieval sacred art, Expressionism, literature and pop culture, her canvases feel almost like confessions, a questioning of old rules and new views on unconditional human habits.
She combines traditional elements with contemporary feminist themes, adding and piling layers, both literal and metaphorical, light and thoughtful, troubled and care-free. This untidy narratives are only possible throughout a practice of extravagance and self-acceptance rooted in her life as mother and woman.
