Albrecht/Wilke (formed 2016, based in Berlin) is an artistic duo by Tim Albrecht (*1992, Berlin) and Hannes Wilke (*1991, Stade). The duo investigates the aesthetics of everyday life through scenes that seem familiar yet are charged with humor, tension, and cultural critique.

Their work engages with art historian iconography and social habits, revealing how stereotypes and normative ideals are — and can be — both reinforced and destabilized in banal settings. They expose the contradictions of contemporary desire melting conformity and satire.

Albrecht/Wilke’s works invite a reading of what we think we know: household scenes, staged leisure, and lifestyle motifs become places of friction and, perhaps, personal projection.

Albrecht/Wilke’s work floats between affection and critique, building a visual vocabulary that speaks to the rituals, facades, and absurdities of modern petit-bourgeois Western social life.

Albrecht/Wilke, who founded their collective in 2016, completed their MFA in Fine Arts at HFBK Hamburg under Prof. Anselm Reyle in 2019. Their solo exhibitions include Fucking Delicious Landscapes (Weserhalle, Berlin, 2023), Icebreaker-Journey (SB.Spacebetween, Nuremberg, 2023), and Große Nasen, kleine Würstchen (Kunstverein Feinkunst e.V., Hanover, 2024)
